Introduction: Human responses to a cancer diagnosis may include changes in daily activities, routines, and independence, which can negatively affect well-being. Psychoeducation supports the patient’s adaptation and understanding processes, promoting treatment adherence, self-perception, and hope while navigating the different stages of the disease’s natural course. Objective: To analyze how psychoeducational interventions can improve the perception of emotional well-being in a group of oncology patients at Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá. Materials and methods: A mixed-methods study was conducted between 2019 and 2020 with 112 patients assigned to the oncology department at Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá. Seventeen psychoeducational workshops were conducted, followed by a satisfaction survey. Additionally, ten semi-structured interviews were carried out. Results: Of the participants, 87% were women; 94% reported satisfaction with the workshop methodology, and 97% found the topics innovative and felt that their questions were resolved. Qualitative findings revealed that participants found the workshops helpful for coping, described the methodology as appropriate and enjoyable, and expressed a desire for the sessions to continue over time. Conclusion: The implementation of psychoeducational workshops for people with cancer is a viable strategy in healthcare settings. Participants reported the workshops as useful, engaging, and beneficial for emotional well-being. Further research is needed to evaluate the interventions using structured protocols and to measure their effects on patient-reported outcomes.
