Resumo

Existem diferentes patologias ováricas que diminuem a capacidade reprodutiva das éguas onde são muito frequentes os processos neoplásicos ou tumores no ovário nas fêmeas equinas; sendo o tumor de células da granulosa (TCG) o de maior apresentação, correspondendo a 2,5% de todas as neoplasias presentes em equinos. O TCG representa um problema econômico em criatórios de alto valor genético devido ao tempo reprodutivo perdido na égua, aos altos custos de diagnóstico, tratamento e, em certas ocasiões, a necessidade de descarte de uma fêmea reprodutora. Devido à sua alta incidência na indústria equina no país e no mundo, é importante ter informações fisiopatológicas atualizadas que possibilitem decisões terapêuticas baseadas em evidências científicas. O objetivo deste artigo foi fazer uma revisão sistemática sobre TCG em éguas. Para isso, foram buscadas informações em diversas bases de dados, utilizando palavras de busca como: granulosa cell tumors in mares, granulosa cell tumors in mares, ovarian pathologies in mares e pathophysiology of granulosa cell tumors, ovarian pathologies in mares e physiopathology of granulose cell tumor. Por fim, o presente trabalho conclui que a fisiopatologia do TCG em éguas permanece incerta devido aos múltiplos fatores que podem estar envolvidos; e seu diagnóstico depende da associação de manifestações clínicas, exame ultrassonográfico, resultados do perfil hormonal e histopatologia.
