The main focus of Ímpetus magazine is the promotion and dissemination of scientific and academic research in the field of physical education and related areas. The magazine seeks to promote the generation of original knowledge, critical discussion and the exchange of ideas on issues related to physical education, physical activity, sports, recreation and health in populations of various ages and contexts.

The journal is committed to promoting scientific and academic quality. It focuses on the publication of rigorous research based on scientific methodologies and sound theoretical approaches. In addition, the journal seeks to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, promoting the participation of researchers and professionals from various disciplines related to physical education and related areas.

Scope

Ímpetus magazine addresses a wide range of topics in the field of physical education and related areas including, but not limited to:
• School physical education: research on practices, methodologies, curricula and evaluation in the field of physical education at preschool, primary, secondary and university levels.
• Physical activity and health: studies that address the relationship between physical activity, health, and well-being in different populations, including research on the prevention and treatment of chronic noncommunicable diseases, active aging, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. .
• Sport and sports performance: research on the physical, technical, tactical and psychological preparation of athletes, as well as the study of sports performance in different sports modalities and levels of competition.
• Recreation and active tourism: studies on the planning, management, and evaluation of recreation programs and services, as well as research that addresses active tourism and its implications for health and well-being.
• Sports and exercise sciences: research that addresses biomechanical, physiological, nutritional, psychological and sociocultural aspects of sport and physical exercise.
• Training and professional development in Physical Education: studies on the initial and continuous training of Physical Education professionals, as well as research that addresses professional development, ethics and knowledge management in the field of physical education.

Ímpetus journal accepts original articles, literature reviews, case studies, and other contributions related to the approach and scope described above. The magazine is published periodically and is aimed at researchers, professionals, teachers and students interested in physical education and related areas in the scientific and academic field.

Open access (OA) policies of Ímpetus magazine

• Free and open access: Ímpetus magazine follows an open access (OA) policy, which means that all articles published in the magazine are available online for free and without access restrictions for readers. This allows anyone interested in physical education and related areas to access the contents of the magazine without having to pay for it.
• Creative Commons License: articles published in Ímpetus magazine are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY–NC-ND 4.0).
• Deposit in repositories: Ímpetus magazine promotes the deposit of published articles in institutional or thematic repositories, with the aim of expanding their visibility and accessibility. Authors are encouraged to share their work in open access repositories, complying with the journal's policies and respecting copyright and corresponding licenses. Likewise, Impetus Magazine has a PKP repository to have an archival history of the manuscripts.

Periodicity

Ímpetus magazine is published twice a year, which means that it is published twice a year. Each issue of the magazine comes out every six months and offers its readers a variety of articles, reviews, news and relevant content in its thematic field (January-June) (July-December)

When submitting the article, the author must complete the Originality form indicating that he or she has no conflict of interest. He or she must complete and sign it accordingly.

Institution that endorses and finances

Ímpetus magazine has the endorsement and financing of the Universidad de los Llanos. However, it is important to highlight that the university does not influence editorial decision-making in the journal's publications. Ímpetus magazine maintains its editorial independence and autonomy in the selection, review and publication of the contents included in each edition. The editors and collaborators of the journal are responsible for guaranteeing the quality and academic rigor of the articles and other content, following the publication norms and standards established by the journal.

Statement of Ethics (COPE)
Ímpetus magazine follows the guidelines and principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), an international organization that promotes ethics in academic publication. In this sense, Ímpetus magazine undertakes to comply with the following ethical principles of COPE:
• Honesty and originality: Ímpetus magazine expects authors to present original works that have not been previously published or are in the process of evaluation in other magazines. Authors are expected to provide accurate data and avoid falsification, fabrication, plagiarism, or any other form of academic misconduct. The Journal does a thorough search with Turnitin to avoid any concept of plagiarism.
• Proper Attribution: Authors are expected to properly acknowledge and attribute the sources and contributions of others in their work. The works of others must be correctly cited and referenced, avoiding the unauthorized use of material protected by copyright.
• Transparency in the presentation of results: the authors must clearly and precisely present the results of their research, avoiding the manipulation or selective deletion of data that could lead to an erroneous interpretation of the results.
• Confidentiality and consent: Ímpetus journal guarantees the confidentiality of the data provided by the authors and reviewers. Likewise, it complies with data protection regulations. Authors are expected to obtain informed consent from research participants and comply with applicable ethical regulations.
• Conflict of interest: authors must disclose any conflict of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their work. The editors and reviewers of the Ímpetus journal must also disclose any conflict of interest and refrain from participating in the evaluation of works in which they have conflicts of interest.
• Fair Review Process: Ímpetus journal follows a fair and transparent peer review process. Authors are entitled to objective and constructive feedback from reviewers and have the opportunity to respond to criticism and improve their work.
