The incorporation of the physical culture subject in the study plans of the curricula university
Abstract
According to the World Health Report, carried out in 2002, unhealthy eating and lack of physical activity are the main causes of the most important non-communicable diseases, such as: cardiovascular, type 2 diabetes and certain cancers, which contribute substantially to the global burden of morbidity, mortality and disability. Other diseases related to poor diet and lack of physical activity, such as tooth decay and osteoporosis, are widespread causes of morbidity. The burden of mortality, morbidity and disability, attributable to
non-communicable diseases, is heavier, and tends to increase, in developing countries, since the people affected are on average younger than in developed countries, which account for 66% of deaths caused by these diseases. The rapid transformation of eating and physical activity habits also contributes to accelerating this trend.
