Detection and selection of talents and sports initiation

Sports training requires a long-term process that involves multiple actors and factors that must ensure the success of the process. Both physical education and the pedagogical and methodological processes, infrastructure, human material, research, environmental, genetic and hereditary factors among others, make the process of selection and detection of sports talent more effective in the search and preparation of future talents of the different sports modalities. The selection and detection of talents, today, constitutes one of the most important aspects in the sports field, because it is the basis for high competition. Authors such as Blázquez, 1986 "... considers that the selection of talent is the period in which the child begins to specifically learn the practice of one or several sports", while Zatsiorsky, 1985, goes further by saying that sports talent must deliver the combination of different motor and psychological capacities and anatomical and physiological aptitudes, which allow to promote the achievement of high sporting results in a certain sport discipline. Taking into account these authors and all those referenced in the article.
