Physical education theory and sport pedagogy: a complementary perspective

Abstract

The exclusive, conflictive and “totalitarian” positions are a fact that reflect antagonism, differences and conflicts within society. Most of the speeches and theoretical positions in the last century - between the 20s and 80s - were colored by the confrontation between the socialist and capitalist systems with a great center during the world wars and within the so-called “cold war”. The fall of the Berlin Wall, the consolidation of Glasnost and Perestroika; the contents and tones of approaches the theorists had to submit to the scientific, social, socio-political and socio-political rigor of the new reality of the world of the market economy. Greater solidity was demanded in the theoretical-scientific arguments from different perspectives under the principles of change, integration, coexistence and complementarity. In the case of Physical Education, its roots in anthropological perspectives, movement theory, psychology and didactics will not fulfill that claim within an almost unapproachable complexity in a world that placed its accents on the social, the political, the importance of the environment and the structural. Furthermore, when she reproduced the comprehensive desire to want to include and legitimize as her own, other objects of study such as “Sports”, “Physical Culture”, “Corporality”, “Physical Activity”, or categories such as of “Game” and “Sports Performance”. Differentiation and complementarity are a pending task. Initially, this perspective is raised between physical education and sport.
