Author Guidelines

Manual for authors GEON Journal

The GEON journal (Management, Organizations and Business) of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Universidad de los Llanos was born with the aim of creating a scientific community around management, organizations and business. For this purpose, a structure, requirements and styles have been defined that are a fundamental part of the editions of our Journal, which will include criteria in the writing of documents, design standards for authors, and that articles maintain uniformity for publication, arbitrated in the always blind modality in open access, seeking to provide quality and reliability to the academic articles that are transmitted in the journal.

The edition of GEON journal is focused on the following topics:

Accounting and Finance
Organizational Management and Business
Creativity and innovation
Marketing
Human Management

Corporate Social Responsibility
Economy

and those that can contribute to the development of Management, organizations and businesses.

Forms and preparation of the article

The articles must be focused on the topics established with the corresponding annexes, the article must be unpublished and not be postulated for publication in any other journal.

If the article contains graphics, illustrations, maps, plans, photographs, among others, the original file (Excel, power point, Word, jpg, png) must be attached to facilitate reproduction, It will also be relevant for the publication to include the dataset and a communication infographic. In addition to that it must put a title and consecutive numbering so that when they are named within the article there is a coherence. In cases where the image is taken from a website, the exact URL or Link reference should be made where the image is published. Because our journal is online, it does not limit the number of images in the writing, taking into account that it is published with APA standards, it can only be presented in the form of figures and Tables.

 

Basic structure of the scientific article

Title: Represents the main idea of ??the content of the article, it must also be brief descriptive, clear and attractive for readers. It is important to emphasize that it must not contain abbreviations, it must not exceed 25 words.

Summary It must be of a structured type and consists of a paragraph made up of a set of phrases or short sentences that describe the most relevant of each part of the manuscript between 200 an 250 words and with the following sections: problem, objective, materials and methods , Results, Conclusions, contribution or originality. source (Díez M, 2007)

Keywords Between 6 and 10 key words in both English and Spanish, for this you must use the UNESCO database http://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/en/?

Introduction. A brief description is made of the information presented, it must contain the objectives, the justification, the problem and the organization of the article. (What is known, What is not known, What the study will contribute, (objective-s)) 1/2 page

Theoretical context Information about the research is expressed regarding the theoretical context, literature review, state of the art. 1 page

Materials and methods Information is expressed about the research carried out, about the methodology, the model, type of research, population and sample and instruments. 1 page

Results. Information is expressed from the research carried out on the results obtained, may be accompanied by figures and tables of values. between 2 and 4 pages.

Discussion . Interpret the results and contextualize the main message based on global scientific knowledge. 2 pages

Conclusions The most relevant conclusions that have to do with the object of study supported by the obtained data are exposed, some recommendations could be included, it is written in the present. 1 page

Bibliographic References The GEON journal will use the bibliography and citations according to what is set forth in the APA standards, and at least must have TWENTY (20) Bibliographic references corresponding to books, book chapters, articles, theses or products built with academic rigor, 30% of the citations must correspond to the last 5 years and all citations must contain the URL where the information was taken

Additional information. Acknowledgments, conflict of interest, type of participation of each author. 1 page.

 

Type of articles


The GEON journal will be governed by the GENERAL CLASSIFICATION CRITERIA of Colciencias (Colombia) which are oriented to the Scientific Quality, the published documents will correspond to the Colciencias typology which is the following

1) Scientific and technological research article. Document that presents, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The generally used structure contains four important sections: introduction, theoretical context, materials and methods, results, discussions, conclusions and references..

2) Reflection article.

Document that presents the results of finished research from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources (Centro de Escritura Javeriano, 2018) https://www.javerianacali.edu.co/centro-escritura / resources / article-of-reflection .

Title (en-es), Author (s), Abstract (en-es), Keywords (en-es), JEL Codes (code and description)

Introduction. It has three elements a) General theme in which the subject or object of study is made known; b) Alternative positions, that is, the most common or most relevant points of view on the subject. c) Author's position: it is the writer's bet in relation to the subject and in this section he announces the specific objectives that he will develop in the text.

Reflection. • In this section all ideas, arguments and reflections are projected in a coherent way. It is usual to resort to subtitles for the sake of argumentative clarity and to correctly sequence the persuasive purpose of the author.

Conclusion. As it is the last section of the text, it usually has a dialogical character and in it the reflections previously exposed are revalued to fully convince the audience of the position of the researcher-author. It is also a stage for self-criticism - limitations or possible variables in future research.

References

For the elaboration of articles of reflection it is suggested the revision of the basic characteristics of the argumentative texts.

 

3) Review article. Document resulting from a finished research where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in a field of science or technology, in order to account for the advances and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.

4) Case report: Document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to make known the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. It includes a systematic review of the literature on analogous cases.

5) Review of the topic. Document resulting from the critical review of the literature on a particular topic.

6) Editorial. Document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee or a guest researcher on guidelines in the thematic domain of the journal.

About the author

The authors of each article must send a summary of their curriculum vitae that does not exceed 12 lines. To do so, they must complete the Journal's Resume Format.

Reviews

Once the article is postulated, the article is received automatically, it passes through the respective verification process by the editor who has 10 days to evaluate it, followed by the verification of the referee who would have 20 days to ensure that the article complies with the given parameters, after 1 month, an answer is given to the author about their article, and if in the case that corrections were necessary, the author would have a period of 10 days to send it back.

Authorization and publication process

Authors must make a letter of Authorization for the publication of the article, which must be scanned and sent as an attachment to the email where the article is sent, in the model that you can find on our website. For publications after January 2021, the authors agree to present the final article in a translated version into English, as part of the editorial process and a requirement for its publication.

Review article

Review articles or state of the art will be published. It must contain at least 50 references, the theoretical context can be omitted but it must keep all the sections.
