Abstract

Motor praxiology has established itself in recent decades as a scientific field that provides a solid and rigorous framework for the study of bodily practices. Concepts such as sociomotricity, internal logic, motor communication, motor behavior, communication networks, semi-motor skills, ethnomotor skills (among others), currently serve as analysis tools for researchers who seek to better understand the functioning of games, gymnastics, sports and other practices, as well as at the same time they also nurture physical education teachers who seek to optimize their teaching modes. Motor praxiology or the science of motor action - as defined by Pierre Parlebas (2001) - offers a perspective that can be adequately complemented with other approaches to current sociocultural studies. In this article we will carry out an investigation regarding what we consider to be the key contributions that this scientific discipline has made and potentially can make to the socio-cultural studies of the bodily practices that are carried out in the free time of the subjects.
