Mountain to the metropolis: academia or cosmology?

Abstract

The text shows the research experience of an indigenous student who after being saturated with theoretical
concepts that a discipline such physical education develops, as play, fun, leisure, recreation, sport, motor expressions,
among others, returns to the community to make research work to qualify for the degree in Physical Education. The
method used was oral history with support in investigative techniques such as participant observation and
semistructured interviews, seeking to identify them own community games. Among the main results I highlight the
fact that the research process triggered a problematización between forms of taking the game from the Western
view and from the indigenous cosmology, so for NASA people Wet Wet Fxi’zenxi (harmony), represents a rituals tissue,
defense of Mother Earth, own policies, health and cultural practices that are interlaced into a harmonious balance in
the territorial everyday life of Nasa.
