Abstract

The following document performs a documentary analysis on the media discourses of identity that during the second The middle of the 20th century put Mexico on the world stage, mainly by the fact of being chosen as headquarters from the 1968 Olympics and the Soccer World Cup in 1970. At this time, characterized by multiple events social movements that shook the bowels of the nation, there were a historical transition and a rethinking of what it meant the Mexican before the world. The document aims to put on the table the historical and social conditions by which the Latin country was passing at the time of being chosen as the headquarters of these two macro-events and the transformations that took place in their identity discourses these were once carried out.
